Client Testimonials
Susan was not only my attorney through some really terrible situations, she was a solid, ethically and morally driven advocate for me and my children. If others find themselves in my situation, I hope they find Susan.
Heather (2014-2018)
I want to thank you for your guidance, and all the time you spent assisting me during a very difficult and scary time period. You really assisted me in making a hard situation better, and helped to give me confidence in my decision making. You were a valuable piece of my journey, and had a very positive impact on me. You helped to prepare me for any future changes I may still need to make, and provided me with a level of confidence in my ability to make those decisions. Thank you for all you do, and did for me. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Susan provided excellent representation for my divorce case. She was very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. She walked me through it with ease and grace. What I appreciated most about Susan was her desire to take the high road, approach everything with values and morals and conduct the divorce with civility and respect. She provided very quick responses and follow-up for all the details. I would highly recommend Susan to anyone that I know in a similar situation.

I remember the distinct feeling of relief I felt after meeting with Susan for the first time. After sympathetically listening to my unique situation, she gave me the confidence and trust with her immediate assessment and actions. Susan goes above her duties as your attorney with tips and tools to help resolve matters in and out of the courtroom, all the while providing you with support and encouragement. And should that dreadful day in court come, Susan is a very strong litigator who helps guide you through an otherwise very unnerving process. Now, I’m enjoying additional time with my son, which is priceless.
Joe (2015)
I had a very positive experience with Susan at a very trying time in my life. Although a divorce is an emotional experience and at times decision-making is difficult, she was very professional, responsive, thoughtful, and in my opinion went above and beyond her role as my attorney. She is an excellent negotiator and helped me clearly understand the long term effects of decisions being made. Although it has been a year, I feel as though I can pick up the phone and call Susan if I have questions regarding my legal issues or specific decree items. I respect and appreciate the support Susan has been for me and strongly recommend her for someone looking for representation.

I am an attorney who went through an unexpected divorce that began in late 2014. My whole world was quickly turned upside down until I spoke with Susan. From the first meeting Susan listened, showed compassion and understanding, and immediately took action to protect me and my interest. Susan gave real world advice gleaned from years of experience with both the bench and the bar. My world was quickly put back in order and I had the freedom to deal with the personal and emotional issues because I had Susan taking care of my legal interest. Susan has my highest confidence and my unequivocal recommendation.
Miguel (2014-2015)
Susan was both very professional and caring throughout my divorce process. The most impressive thing was that her advice was to always do that right thing in a responsible way instead of a reactionary way. I would highly recommend Susan to anyone that is looking for a voice of reason at a very chaotic time of life.
David E. (2014-2015)
Susan did an amazing job as my divorce attorney. She is incredibly professional, intelligent and trustworthy. My divorce was difficult and Susan walked me through it with ease and grace. Susan always put my concerns and the well-being of my children first. What I appreciated most about Susan was her desire to take the high road and her integrity. Susan approached everything with high values and morals. Susan always conducted matters of the divorce with civility and respect even though that was not always reciprocated on the other side. I have tremendous respect for Susan’s work ethic and her devotion to her clients.
J.A. (2012 – present)
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have to be consulting an attorney with two very young children. Susan from day one took the time to answer all my legal questions, and provide sound legal advice. Over the years, she has gone above and beyond to return my calls and emails quickly. She is extremely professional, kind, and resourceful in helping me make some really difficult decisions. She is empathetic, and willing to listen and understand my concerns and questions. She also excels at negotiations, and in dealing with other attorneys and judges. I personally tell anyone I meet who is going through a divorce to use Susan as their attorney. I highly recommend her, and am so grateful that she has helped me and my children.

During the challenges I was facing it felt overwhelming knowing who to contact. It was important to me to find a firm that exclusively practiced family law. A colleague referred me to Susan and through many complicated and challenging times she represented me for over 10 years (2006-2016). Susan is a person of integrity, determination, trustworthiness, and compassion! When making difficult decisions I found Susan's years of experience to provide expert representation and direction in handling my case. She was honest and dependable with a level of detail that was essential! In addition, she is one of the hardest working professionals I know. The stress levels and adversity can be overwhelming. One of Susan's greatest values is she will never sacrifice her morals no matter how unprofessional others may be. My case was extremely unusual and heartbreaking but through it all I always knew I could count on Susan. As one of the most sought after family lawyers in Kansas City, I hope you have the opportunity to have Susan represent you!
