Legal Assistant – Creditors’ Rights/Collections/Bankruptcy

McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan has an immediate full-time opening for a Creditors’ Rights/Collections/Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to assist the Chair of the Creditor’s Rights Law Group, Lou Wade. Responsibilities include: Drafting pleadings, petitions, garnishments, basic discovery, electronic court filings in all state and district courts throughout Missouri and Kansas as well as in bankruptcy courts, docket coverage, communication with clients and opposing counsel and court clerks, and all accounting matters, including accounting reconciliation on the 15th and last day of the month. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 8:00 -5:00, with some flexibility. Plaza location. McDowell Rice Smith & Buchanan is a mid-sized law firm located on the Country Club Plaza.
